Augmentative and Alternative communication
Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) encompasses the communication methods used to supplement or replace speech or writing for those with impairments in the production or comprehension of spoken or written language. AAC is used by individuals with a wide range of speech and language impairments, including congenital impairments such as cerebral palsy, intellectual impairment and autism.
The cost of devices for children who need them are often covered entirely by insurance following a comprehensive evaluation performed by a pediatric speech language pathologist
If you think that your child would benefit from an AAC device or system, regardless of their current therapy status, your ability to pay, or your access to healthcare insurance, reach out to our office.
Access to language is not a privilege, it’s a human right and ITS is here to ensure that every child’s voice is heard.
